Venom: LET THERE BE CARNAGE (Venom 2 - horror/si-fi 2021) movie overview, cast, release date and more

Venom: Let There Be Carnage is a 2021 American superhero film starring Venom from Marvel Comics, produced by Columbia Pictures in collaboration with Marvel and Tencent Pictures. It is the second film in Sony's Spider-Man Universe and the sequel to Venom, and it is distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing (2018). Andy Serkis directs the picture from a script by Kelly Marcel, based on a storey she co-wrote with Tom Hardy, who co-stars alongside Michelle Williams, Naomie Harris, Reid Scott, Stephen Graham, and Woody Harrelson as Eddie Brock / Venom. Brock struggles to acclimate to life as the alien symbiote Venom's host in the film.

Venom was supposed to represent the start of a new shared universe, and ideas for a sequel started while the first film was being made. Harrelson was cast to play Kasady at the end of Venom, with the goal of him becoming Carnage in the sequel. The sequel's official production began in January 2019, with Hardy and Harrelson confirmed to return, as well as Marcel as the writer. Serkis was selected as director in August of that year, in part because of his previous experience with CGI and motion-capture technology, which was crucial in representing Venom and Carnage in the picture.

From November 2019 until February 2020, filming took place at Leavesden Studios in England, with additional filming in San Francisco in February. In April 2020, the title was revealed. The comic book storey arc "Maximum Carnage" (1993) and the 1994 Spider-Man animated series storey arc The Venom Saga served as major inspirations for the picture (1996).

Venom: Let There Be Carnage had its world debut on September 14, 2021, in London, and was distributed in theatres on October 1, 2021 in the United States. Due to the COVID-19 epidemic, it was postponed from its original October 2020 deadline. The film has grossed over $191 million worldwide, and critics have given it mixed reviews.
