Realme is preparing to unveil the Realme 8i, the world's first MediaTek Helio G96-powered smartphone. A 120Hz screen, 50MP primary camera sensor, and 5,000mAh battery are expected to be included in the mid-ranger.

The Helio G96 processor for mid-range smartphones was introduced by MediaTek quite some time ago. While the hardware is identical as the Helio G95, it has several under-the-hood improvements. On paper, the real-world performance of both processors should be similar. The Helio G96 is set to debut alongside the Realme 8i, so we'll find out soon enough. The smartphone is planned to be unveiled in September 2021 by Realme.

@OnLeaks, an experienced Twitter leaker, and Digit India provided the information. The Realme 8i will be equipped with three back camera modules, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and a 16MP hole-punch selfie camera, according to leaked renders. A 50MP sensor of unknown make will be the focal point of the camera system, which will also include a 2MP macro lens and a 2MP depth sensor. A 6.5-inch FHD panel with 120Hz refresh rate, a 5,000mAh battery, 4GB of RAM, and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage round out the Realme 8i's features.

The name hints that the Realme 8i will be a scaled-down version of the Realme 8. Realme, on the other hand, has guaranteed that both phones have distinct features, essentially barring them from competing on price. To begin with, the Realme 8 comes with an AMOLED display. The Realme 8i, on the other hand, is unlikely to follow suit, instead opting for a high-refresh-rate LCD. The Realme 8 also sports a somewhat better primary camera sensor and an ultra-wide-angle lens.
