There have been plenty of leaks, live images, official teases, and certifications for vivo's new X70 family recently, leaving nothing to the imagination for the September 9 presentation event. Thanks to an exhaustive specs sheet leak, any residual confusion about specs among the trio of X70 models should now be formally cleared up.
Even though most of these specifications were already known, we'll go over everything we know, starting with the top X70 Pro+. It has a Samsung E5 AMOLED display with a 6.78 QHD+ (3200 x 1440-pixel), 10-bit, 120Hz, HDR10+, and a local peak brightness of up to 1500 nits, which uses 25% less power than the E4 and has a local peak brightness of up to 1500 nits. On the front, there's a 32MP selfie camera with a punch-hole, as well as an in-display fingerprint reader. A Snapdragon 888+ chipset with 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage, as well as a 4,500 mAh battery with 55W fast charging and 50W fast wireless charging, provide the necessary power. All of this is contained into a 209g, 64.54 x 75.21 x 8.89mm body. The X70 Pro+'s cameras include a 50MP, f/1.57 main camera based on a Samsung GN1 sensor, a 48MP, ultrawide Sony IMX598 camera with 4-axis gimbal OIS, a 12MP portrait camera, and an 8MP periscope zoom camera with OIS (likely 5x). Dual SIM capability, dual-band GPS, and Android 11 with Funtouch OS 11.1 on top are all said to be included.
The vivo X70 and X70 Pro will both boast a 6.56-inch FullHD+ (2376 x 1080-pixel), HDR10+, 120HZ AMOLED display with an in-display fingerprint reader. Both have a 32MP selfie camera, which is also shared by the Pro+ model, and can charge at up to 44W. Both are expected to come with 265GB of UFS 3.1 storage and 8GB or 12GB of RAM. Instead of Funtouch, they'll apparently boot Android 11 with vivo's new Origin OS 1.0 on top. That pretty much sums up the similarities.
A 4450 mAh battery powers the X70 Pro, which measures 158.30 x 73.21 x 7.99mm and weighs 185 grammes. It also features an Exynos 1080 chipset, as well as a 50MP Samsung GN1 main camera with OIS, a 12MP ultrawide camera with macro mode, a 12MP portrait camera, and an 8MP periscope.
The vanilla X70 features a somewhat smaller 4,400 mAh battery with a body that measures 160.1075.397.55mm and weighs 181 grammes. In an odd twist, it'll be offered with either an Exynos 1080 or a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chipset. An unusual decision that may make the X70 family unique in that it offers chip alternatives from three key competitors in the same line. The X70 features a 48MP Sony IMX776, OIS-enabled main camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera with macro, and a 12MP portrait camera. Essentially, skipping the periscope of the Pro.
