iPhone 15 Pro models to replace notch with punch hole cutout

Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo's recent research note offers a look into the next generation of Apple iPhones, perhaps a little too soon after the iPhone 13 series launch. According to the report, the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max will feature a major redesign that will eliminate the notch and replace it with a punch hole cutout.

Both Pro variants are also rumoured to have 48MP wide cameras. In the second part of 2022, Apple will release the iPhone 14 series. Apple will not introduce an in-screen fingerprint scanner next year, according to Kuo, as the shift is expected to happen in 2023.

In addition to the ordinary vanilla model, the 2022 iPhone lineup will contain a new 6.7-inch non-Pro iPhone. There is no mention of a smaller model for next year, confirming prior reports that Apple would abandon the small form factor. In the first half of 2022, a new iPhone SE with 5G capabilities is expected to be released.
