The vivo X70 series was presented exclusively for the Chinese market yesterday. The camera-obsessed trio will, however, be available in other countries as well. There are a few differences between the Chinese phones, primarily on the Pro model.
The vivo X70 Pro+ stands head and shoulders above its siblings. It is powered by the Snapdragon 888+ chipset and exclusively features vivo’s new V1 chip, which uses AI for noise reduction and MEMC (motion estimation, motion compensation).
The vivo X70 Pro switches over to the same Dimensity 1200 chipset as the vanilla X70 (the Chinese model uses the Exynos 1080 instead). This also means that the Pro loses the V1 chip, which is present on the Exynos variant. The vanilla vivo X70 is unchanged, except for switching from vivo’s new OriginOS to the OS it uses abroad – Funtouch OS version 12 (based on Android 11).
New markets for the X70 series will be added over time, including India, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates, and others. Vivo hasn't revealed its specific plans, so just some of the three models may be offered in a given country. Pricing has yet to be revealed. Currently, there are no plans to introduce the X70 to Europe, despite the fact that the X60 Pro was released there.
Before we go, here are a couple more exclusives on the X70 Pro+ model, so you know which one to hope is available in your area. The Pro+ is equipped with a ZEISS high-transmittance glass lens. The lenses on all three phones, however, contain ZEISS T* coating and different markings, including the ZEISS Vario-Tessar brand.
The display is a big 6.78-inch Samsung E5 AMOLED, an LTPO panel with a refresh rate of 1 to 120 Hz and a touch sampling rate of 300 Hz. It has a 1440p+ resolution and 10-bit support. This is also vivo's first phone with any form of IP classification, and it's an IP68 rating (dust proof and water resistant). The Pro+ has a 55W wired charger and even faster wireless charging
