Xiaomi recently ascended to the top of the worldwide smartphone charts in mid-2021, and its CEO predicts that they will continue to do so in the near future.
Within the next three years, Xiaomi wants to be the undisputed leader in the global smartphone industry. On Twitter, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun shared a fragment from a recent lecture in which he predicted that Xiaomi will become the world's consistent number one smartphone brand over the next three years. Multiple reasons have contributed to the company's recent growth, all of which have helped the brand evolve its brand perception not just in China and India, but also in western countries.“In the hearts of Xiaomi supporters, Xiaomi is a corporation with a dream,” Lei Jun adds in his speech. Thank you to all of our supporters who have believed in us. I finally had the courage to say it out loud at our August 10th launch event: “In three years, Xiaomi aims to become the world's No. 1 smartphone brand!”
Xiaomi recently dethroned Samsung to become the world's most popular smartphone brand for a limited time. Xiaomi surpassed Samsung in terms of shipped smartphones volume in June 2021, according to Counterpoint Research statistics. The collapse of Huawei from a strong position, when the business was clearly going to overtake Samsung on its growth trajectory, is one of the drivers driving its rise. However, the corporation has faded into obscurity as a result of the US trade embargo and sanctions imposed on it.
Samsung's manufacturing chain issues in Vietnam, which was affected hard by Covid-19, resulted in the business failing to gather adequate volume for its June 2021 device delivery. Xiaomi was able to get around this by rapidly rising to the top of the smartphone charts. However, Lei Jun now wants the firm to be a consistent worldwide leader within the next three years, and the company's recent rebranding from Mi to Xiaomi is expected to help it expand its market share in Western markets.
